Conference of health and population scientists begins

The sixth conference of health and population scientists began from Monday. The Nepal Health Research Council has organized the conference where 16 research-oriented working papers of health sector were presented today.
Senior research officer of Council, Dr Meghnath Dhimal shared that most of the working papers presented today were related with coronavirus (COVID-19).
Minister for Health and Population Bhanu Bhakta Dhakal inaugurated the two-day conference organized through virtual method.


Dr Dhimal said that the conference was organized with the thought the conclusion drawn from the study and research carried out in the health and population sector would help the government in policy formulation of the sector.
Around 500 scientists had participated in the conference. Working papers on different topics including health equity and development, COVID-19, child health, maternity health, mental health and communicable disease would be presented on Tuesday.


Health and population specialist from America, London, Switzerland, Philippines, Thailand, Belgium and Germany had also participated in the conference. They had exchanged experiences about study and research carried out in course of COVID-19 in their respective countries.
The council has been organizing such conference every year.
