Sudurpaschim Province CM Bhatta wins vote of confidence

Chief Minister of Sudurpaschim Province Trilochan Bhatta has secured the vote of confidence from the Province Assembly.
The Chief Minister of the CPN (Maoist Centre)-led government got 30 votes. Province Assembly Speaker Arjun Shah shared that of the total of 52 Province Assembly members, 30 voted for CM Bhatta while nine voted against him.
Similarly, 12 members were absent in the voting process. Speaker Shah then declared that 30 votes obtained by Bhatta were majority votes of the members present in the Province Assembly.

NC to support CM Bhatta in Sudurpaschim Province

The Nepali Congress parliamentary party in Sudurpaschim Province has decided to support the government led by Chief Minister Trilochan Bhatta.
NC Province Assembly member Tek Bahadur Raika informed that the NC parliamentary party meeting today decided to vote for CM Bhatta in case he needs support to run government.


The NC has 12 Province Assembly members. With the NC’s decision, CM Bhatta will be able to garner vote of confidence, it is said.
CM Bhatta needs 27 votes where Maoist Centre has 13 members and some members of UML will also support him.


However, Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP) members have decided not to vote for CM Bhatta. It was decided so in line with the alliance made in the federal government, said parliamentary party leader of JSP, Krishna Bahadur Chaudhari. His party has two members in the Province Assembly.
